What we keep, and what we never see
The application plays with nothing connected, so what happens in your church stays on its computer. An account keeps only what it needs to hold a licence.
What an account keeps
| Your email address and name | To sign you in, and to write to you about your account. |
|---|---|
| A hash of your password | Never the password itself, which cannot be read back from it. |
| If you sign in with Google, your Google account number | Only to know you when you come back. Google tells us your name and address; nothing else is asked for or kept. |
| Each signed-in computer's name and platform | So you can see which computers use the licence, and sign one out. |
| Where you are signed in | The browser or application, and when, so you can end a sign-in. |
| An address left to hear of the first release | Sent to our inbox so we can write to you on the day. It is not kept on this site. |
| The payment provider's reference | Once licences are sold. Card details never reach this site. |
The application
SoundofHymns asks for the internet only to sign in to an account and to keep its licence current. It sends nothing about the hymns you play, your services or your settings, and it never listens: it has no microphone access.
This site
A cookie keeps you signed in, and nothing else is stored in your browser. There is no advertising and no third-party tracking. The support form and the release notice ask Cloudflare Turnstile whether a person sent them, which it judges from your browser for that form alone. The download is public and needs no account.
Deleting an account
Deleting an account removes you, your sign-ins and your computers, and ends any subscription. The record of what a licence was paid for stays, because it is a financial record, but nothing in it names you. It is done from your account's settings.
This page says what the system does. A full privacy policy will replace it before licences are sold.
